The Opportunity
Monash University is a dynamic, research-intensive university with an international focus and long established tradition of providing excellence in education.
Following the recent appointment of the new Vice-Chancellor Ed Byrne, and a review and internal restructure of the marketing and communication functions at the University, Monash is now seeking to appoint an exceptional and talented Director of Marketing and Communication to lead these areas.
The position is responsible for providing strong leadership to the Marketing, Communication, Web Design and Development and Design and Desktop Publishing functions of the University and working closely with the managers of these areas and also with senior managers across the University to achieve the University's strategic marketing and communication objectives.
Critical to this role is:
- Extensive senior experience working within and across large and complex organisations,
- Demonstrated creative and innovative strategic thinking and planning capabilities,
- Strong leadership and management abilities, particularly in organisational and cultural change,
- Superior communication and influencing skills with multiple internal and external stakeholders,
- Demonstrated success in working across both traditional and new media channels.

Remuneration package: An attractive remuneration package including generous superannuation will be negotiated with the successful applicant.
This role is a full-time position, however flexible working arrangements may be negotiated.

Duration
Three-year fixed term performance-based contract.
